Bill Redman (1946-2009)
of Redman Wines
Bill and Cathy Redman founded Redman Wines in 2004 when they purchased 30 acres on Ribbon Ridge and planted a 22 acre vineyard. The Redman’s had been active in the Oregon wine industry since the mid 1980’s. Bill grew up in Scapoose, and spent most of his career as a lumber trader in Portland. He was known in the industry as the “King of Alder”.
Redman Wines was a charter member of the Chehalem Mountains Winegrowers Association. Bill was on the board of directors. Their first vintage was 2005. Bill Redman passed away March 19, 2009.
