1954-2015

Dr. Michael Purdy and family moved from Oregon to Hawaii in 1983 to establish a dental practice. He was best known in the Aloha State for his candy company, Island Princess.
He and his wife, Gwen, purchased Orchard Heights in 1996. The winery became known for its award-winning brunch, served at the tasting room on most Sundays. Orchard Heights makes a number of wines including Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Gewürztraminer and several dessert wines. Orchard Heights was originally established in 1991.
Michael Purdy passed away in 2015.
